Prison Spotlight: Montgomery County Correctional Center

The following is information about the Montgomery County Correctional Center located in Montgomery County, Maryland.

The Montgomery County Correctional Facility is responsible for the custody and care of male and female offenders who are either in a pre-trial status or serving sentences of up to 18 months. The facility also has inmates whose sentences are over 18 months and are waiting for transfer to the Maryland’s Department of Corrections. The facility’s current capacity is 1,028 inmates. Following an initial intake screening at the Montgomery County Detention Center (MCDC), inmates are transferred to the Correctional Facility.

Please note the following visitation schedule, but always call the facility to confirm the schedule:

* If inmates are participating in a school or institutional program they will not be called out for a family visit. Please check with the inmate regarding their individual schedule prior to coming to visit them.

All visitors need to arrive 30 minutes before the end of visiting to ensure inmate’s arrival Example: 10:30am, 3:30pm, 8:00pm
