Michael Douglas’ Son – Prison Violence

Published

on

No one, including the son of Michael Douglas, is exempted from prison violence. Once you leave the outside world for the life behind bars, you are just another inmate. The power of your family ends behind the grey walls and barbed wire. It is a different culture with different rules and taboos.  Prison violence statistics for Federal and State prisons have shown that prison violence is an integral part of prison culture. The causes of prison violence vary from  a perceived act of disrespect to retribution for snitching.

Your pedigree or your standing in the outside world will not protect an inmate from prison violence. It was reported in 2011 that O. J. Simpson was attacked in prison. Former Alabama influential gambling lobbyist, Jarrod Massey, was also attached in February. I am not discussing the alleged causes for these acts of violence. The point being–no one is exempted from prison violence. The following article about Cameron Douglas the son of Michael Douglas, demonstrates this point.

Painful prison stint for Michael Douglas’ wise-guy son, Cameron. Hard time: Michael Douglas said prison officials ignored the broken bones his son Cameron, who is serving time on drug charges, sustained in a beating.

Michael Douglas’ son Cameron was reportedly roughed up in prison, according to the New York Post.

The 34-year-old is doing hard time in Pennsylvania for drug possession and distribution — but that didn’t stop him from allowing his lawyer to smuggle heroin and a prescription narcotic into the jail in her bra last year, which added an extra four years to his five-year sentence. Now his finger and leg have allegedly been broken on the orders of the mobsters whom he reportedly snitched on to get a lighter sentence.

Michael Douglas is “furious” about the medical care his son has received, alleging that the doctor didn’t notice that his femur was broken, calling it a sprain instead, which resulted in a dangerous blood clot.

Cameron Douglas seems to be making the best of the situation, though. An “insider” told the Post that he has “gone gangster” in prison, complete with neck tattoos, pumping iron and, um, playing in flag football tournaments.
