The Downeast Correctional Facility, located at the former Bucks Harbor Air Force Station, was established by the Legislature in September 1984. Funds were appropriated to purchase the facility for the confinement and rehabilitation of persons who have been duly sentenced and committed to the Department of Corrections and began receiving inmates in June 1985. The facility is a minimum security institution with a prisoner count of 148.

Hi my nephew is there and i would like to send him money and was told i had to put it in a postal money order. But not sure if i need to put the money order in his name or in Downeast name. also I would like to come visit. I am not his mother but was always the closet thing he had to a mother. Please let me know if and when i could visit him. and how to make out this money order thank you.
