Lemon Creek Correctional Center

Lemon Creek Correctional Center is a maximum security facility that houses some of the most ruthless inmates in Alaska.  The facility holds a little over 220 male and female inmates.  Many inmates who are housed here are convicted felons, while about a quarter of the inmates are in the pre-trial phase of their judicial tour. Lemon Creek Correctional serves as both a long term facility for convicted felons and an initial intake and classification facility. Inmates are usually unable to make phone calls or to receive mail during the initial intake period, which can range from a few days to several weeks.
