G.K. Fountain Correctional Facility opened in 1928 and is located on 8,200 acres about seven miles north of Atmore, AL on Highway 21. The facility was named in honor of an officer killed in the line of duty. Fountain offers vocational programs through the Jefferson Davis Community College and provides trade opportunities in agricultural operations.
