Jefferson County Jail

Posting Bail Bail and Bail Bonds are accepted 24 hours a day at the jail lobby. Persons wishing to post Bail or a Bail Bond are encouraged to call with any questions. In addition to posting Bail or Bond, a cash-only, non-refundable $60.00 warrant fee is charged per warrant for which an inmate is bailed out. This fee does not apply for fresh criminal charges, or cases in which the inmate has already gone before the judge and is held on court conditions instead of the warrant. Cash Bail Bail can be posted with cash or cashier's checks. Bail must be posted for the full amount of bail for each charge or warrant the inmate is held on. When cash bail is posted, it is possible, but not guaranteed, that the person paying the bail will eventually receive the bail money back from the courts. This is not guaranteed, and requires the person that is bailed out has made their required court appearances and complied with all court requirements. Refunds for cash bail are handled by the court that has jurisdiction over the defendant’s case. The Sheriff’s Office does not refund bail monies.
