Multnomah County Inverness Jail

The Multnomah County Inverness Jail (MCIJ) is a medium security facility located in East Portland. It opened in 1987, with two expansions, the first in 1991, and the second in 1998. It is a direct-supervision open layout with each dorm housing up to 75 inmates and having a staffed deputy station. MCIJ houses adults in custody for the County who have qualified for specific housing classifications, as well as state and federal inmates being held as part of a cooperative regional transportation program.
