The Corrections Division is responsible for the operations of adult detentions under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff's Office. The Corrections Division operates the only full-service jail in Ashland County. The new jail was opened February 24th, 2001. The facility is a state of the art modular style jail. With a capacity of 127 inmates and a staff of 34 officers, the jail was designed to meet the needs of a growing Ashland County. The current average daily population is 110, with approximately 1750 people booked into the jail per year. Being a full service jail requires us to provide many programs and activities for inmates. Some of these are: Alcohol and Drug Counseling, Anger management, Parenting Plus, G.E.D. education, full medical and psychological services, laundry, library and commissary services. Bible study and religious counseling are available as well. Inmates are provided with recreational periods, television and table games. Additional programs are Work Release, Community Service projects and Life Skills training.
