The Taos County Adult Detention Center (TCADC) is an 88-bed facility housing both male and female detainees. Opened on June 26, 2011, the new modern facility can house more offenders on a long term basis, saving the taxpayer money by reducing or eliminating the need to transport detainees to facilities within and/or operated by other counties. TCADC works in collaboration with CorrHealth, LLC to deliver on-site medical services to incarcerated individuals. TCADC also contracts with Summit Food Services to provide meals and commissary services to detainees housed at the facility. The TCADC is constantly looking at a variety of programs and services to offer detainees and the families of incarcerated individuals.
