Hennepin County Jail

he Hennepin County jail, formally called the adult detention center, is a pre-trial facility in downtown Minneapolis. Inmates are housed in the public safety facility and in city hall, across the street from each other. The two locations are treated as one facility. The public safety facility and city hall are just north of the Hennepin County Government Center, on the light rail line. Entrance to the Public Safety Facility is on the corner of 4th Avenue and 5th Street. Visitors must pass through weapons screening.
