Administrative Professionals Day (also known as Secretaries Day) is an unofficial holiday in the United States acknowledging the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists, and other administrative support professionals. The holiday is celebrated on the last Wednesday of April each year since 1952. We never think of the complications of running a gang. There are numerous factors such as ordering the drug shipments, scheduling distribution, designating hits, and other everyday aspects of gang activity. If the managers are incarcerated, then logistics become even more complicated.
As we learn in the following article, even gangs have secretaries. Authorities in Kansas have arrested a woman for allegedly helping the Mexican Mafia funnel information through Los Angeles County jails from her home in Kansas. L.A. County Sheriff’s Deputy Francis Hardiman stated in a telephone interview, “The so-called secretaries of organized crime groups often use fraudulent cellphone accounts to help push information — about drug movements, hits and other matters – to shot-callers inside the jails.”
Normally, management on this holiday would give flowers or candy, to the administrative staff and probably take everyone to lunch. One can only wonder what the secretary for the gang receives from her employer on Administrative Professionals Day. Here you can find more details about the Mexican Mafia’s secretary in Kansas.
