ASPC-Tucson is a miniumum to high security prison with an inmate capacity of approximately 4,900 and is comprised of 9 housing units. Each unit provides different types of support and learning programs, including education services, treatment programs, and work programs.

Hi, Protective segregation or what is more commonly known as protective custody means that an inmate is incarcerated in a special tier locked down in his cell 23 hours every day. The inmate does not have contact with other inmates. He eats, is awake,and sleeps in his cell every day.Depending on the prison, the inmate will spend time by himself in a special, small,outside space for one hour.
