Point MacKenzie Correctional Farm houses over 100 male offenders and is one of the most coveted facilities to be assigned to. Inmates must be a low/minimum custody offender to be sent here. Inmates help to operate a farm that provides an assortment of products to correctional facilities across Alaska. Farming is one of the main staples of this institution. Offenders are given vocational training in the growing and cultivation of certain crops. Inmates are also trained to work with pigs, cows, turkey and chickens.

my nephew, an inmate at Pt. McKenzie, has requested some work boots since he will be working on the farm. He said we could order them from Walmart.com. I checked the website, had completed the order and found out they will not ship the boots. Can I purchase boots and socks and bring them to the facility personally when we visit?
Hi karen,
Most facilities do not allow you to bring any clothing, etc. to an inmate. We recommend contacting the facility directly for their policy.
