Hi:
If I send a USPS money order to an inmate, do I send it directly to him (like letters are sent)or is there a special address?
Thank you.

Hi PJ,
For information about sending money to an inmate, review the additional section. For information
about prison life, read the 25 Rules.

Hi: Can I send postage stamps to an inmate if I order them through the United States Postal Service and have them mailed directly to the inmate?

brad

Hi PJ,
Many prisons require the inmates to purchase stamps from the commissary.

I guess I will need to call the Work Farm directly to get the answer….

Hi Steve,
Try contacting his case manager. If this is not helpful, then contact the prison chaplain for assistance.

The information above states that “Completed applications must be sent to the inmate at the institution they reside.” However, the actual form (DC-949, Rev. 07/08) states in big red ink on the bottom of the application, “APPLICATIONS MUST BE RETURNED TO FACILITY SUPERINTENDENT. DO NOT RETURN TO THE INMATE”.
Can you please advise to whom the application and copy of DL should be returned and at which address??
Thanks,
B

Hi Benji,
It is our understanding that the completed applications are returned to the facility administration as indicated on the application. We recommend calling the prison directly to confirm the process.
