Prison Description

The Bucks County Department of Corrections operates both a Men’s and Women’s Community Corrections Center. These two centers are community-based, minimum security, work release facilities. The philosophy for minimum custody and work release emphasizes personal accountability and treatment, while offering residents an opportunity to help themselves and their families. The Men’s Community Corrections Center opened on July 28, 1991; replacing the original Rehabilitation Center opened in 1963 (this was the first stand alone work release facility in the country). The building houses 270 male residents and provides shared treatment programming for both males and females. Shared services offered to male and female residents include; intensive drug and alcohol treatment, adult basic education, case management, community service and work release.
